2 Climate the low land in the prairies is extremely cold. Winter is long, windy and cold but has lots of snow. But the corner of portage and main in Winnipeg some say that it is the coldest in Canada! Now in the summer it is warm and sunny! Plus the sky is usually clear! 3 Geographical features The prairies is basically a large national grassland with a few trees. the shield in the prairies has low hills, forests, lakes and rocky outcrops. In the prairies there are 7 major rivers and most of them flow through lakes. Speaking of rivers there was a flood in the red river and people called it the flood of the century!

4 Recreation Now what do they do in the prairies they skate, curl, ski and ride horses!!!

5 Resources/ Industry In the prairies they mine for minerals. They also mine for fuel products like oil. And they of Course farm!! Fact: the prairies makes 1 3 rd of Canada's nickels, copper, gold, zinc and titanium.

6 Culture In the prairies they have an ice carnival, there is a blueberry festival and an Ukrainian dance festival in Duplin. Plus did you know that Manitoba's national flower is a crocus?

7 Additional information 1.Shaped like a triangle from the foot of the hills to the rocky mountains. 2.The prairies are also called the bread basket of the country. 3.The prairies produce most of Canada's grain output.

8 Should I stay or should I go now? I think I will go because….. 1. They ski in the winter and I love skiing!! 2. In the summer it is warm! Unlike here sometimes. 3. I always wanted to be a farmer. And that is why I want to go.
