4 Important Things During the Revolution Saratoga – October 17, 1777 –Patriot Victory- We CAN beat the British! –French ally w/ Americans Valley Forge (1778) – no battle (emotional victory) –Washington & Continental Army fight to stay alive through the harsh New England winter- TOUGH! Yorktown – October 19, 1781 –Brits, led by Gen. Cornwallis, surrender, officially ending war

13 Shay’s Rebellion 1. Farmers in Massachusetts didn’t want to pay higher taxes 2. Tried to seize (take) weapons from an arsenal 3. State had to send in militia to put down rebellion 4. Four farmers killed Something must be done to strengthen the Federal Gov’t!
