1. Welcome to Day #14 Today we are going to review what will happen on Monday when the Advisory classes change & talk about Binder checks.

2. Advisory is going to change on Monday … Your teachers have decided what you need to do for the next three weeks in Advisory. You will be assigned to one of the following: Intervention Intervention Study Hall Study Hall Exploration Exploration Grade Level Topic Grade Level Topic

3. If you are assigned to Intervention It will be for one of the following subjects: Language Arts Language Arts Math Math Science Science This means you just need a little more time to master the Learning Targets.

4. If you are assigned to Study Hall It means you have class work or homework that needs to be finished and then turned in. You will get partial credit for turning your work in late – but, hey, anything is better than a zero, right?

5. If you are assigned to EXPLORATION It means you will have one of the classes you selected a week or so ago – the ones you circled on page 4 of the Student Agenda.

6. If you are assigned to a grade level topic If you are in the 6 th grade – it means you will be in a Life Skills class for the next three weeks. If you are in the 7 th grade – it means you will be in “Crazy for College” for the next three weeks. Everyone has to – you’re just first!

7. Here is how you will know where your class meets: Come to this room on Monday. Your current advisory teacher will give you a ticket to get into your new class. A bell will ring at 9:00 am. You have 5 minutes to get to your new class. The tardy bell will ring at 9:05 am.

8. What if I don’t like the EXPLORATION class? Wellllllllll, you chose it, so you are going to have to live with it for the next three weeks. If there is a question about whether or not you chose it, you will need to talk to Dr. Cook.

10. Make sure your parents know your schedule … On page 4 of the Student Agenda, you should have filled in your class schedule. Turn to it now, and make sure it is correct. Your parents will need this when they come to school on Thursday night.

11. Binder & Agenda Check In your next advisory cycle one of the following people will come to your class to see if you understand the importance of writing down your daily assignments and keeping an organized binder: Counselor, Support Teacher, Vice Principal or Principal

12. If there is time remaining in this Advisory class... Use it to make sure your binder and agenda are organized and complete. The Advisory classes that have 100% of the students with organized binders and complete agendas will be rewarded with 5 extra minutes at lunch.
