4 To Pull Your Socks Up... To make an effort to improve your work or behaviour because it is not good enough.

5 To Lift a Game... To try harder and do better. It also means to work to your best.

6 It’s Raining Cats and Dogs... Something that you say when it is raining very heavily.

7 To Stick Your Neck Out... To stick your neck out means to take a risk.

8 To Break the Ice... To attempt to become friends with someone.

9 Hold your Horses... Hold your horses means wait or slow down.

10 Go Bananas... To become very crazy or very angry.
