Presentation on theme: "Organelle Function nucleus mitochondria cell membrane chloroplast"— Presentation transcript:

1 Organelle Function nucleus mitochondria cell membrane chloroplast
cytoplasm cell wall ribosome lysosome Golgi bodies vacuole endoplasmic reticulum Function controls everything the cell does provide energy from food controls what goes in and out of the cell makes plant food jelly-like filling in the cell thick layer outside plant cells makes proteins recycles unneeded parts sorts materials storage areas moves materials

2 How are plant and animal cells different?
Plant cells have: cell walls chloroplasts only one large vacuole (Animals cells have many small vacuoles.)

3 How are prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells different?
Prokaryotic cells do not have a separate nucleus or membranes around its organelles. (example: bacteria) Eukaryotic cells do have a separate nucleus and membranes around its organelles. (examples: any plant or animal cell)
