1. How to Pick the Perfect Pumpkin

2. Today my Aunt Kate and I are going to the pumpkin patch to pick the perfect pumpkin.

3. I asked my Aunt Kate, “How do I know when I have found the perfect pumpkin?” My Aunt Kate said, “The pumpkin will be completely orange. There should be no green spots because that means the pumpkin has not fully ripened.”

4. “How big should our pumpkin be?” “ Big pumpkins are for carving and small pumpkins are for baking, so it’s up to you” Aunt Kate said. Me and my Aunt want to carve our pumpkin so we will need a big one.

5. “Once we get to the pumpkin patch, how will we get our pumpkin off the vine,” I said? Once we have found our perfect pumpkin, I will cut the vine so we can put it into our wagon,” my Aunt Kate said.

6. Once we arrived to the pumpkin patch, we walked through the whole field on the search to find our perfect pumpkin.

7. We passed some pumpkins with greens spots.

8. We also passed some very small pumpkins that were not good for carving.

9. Just as I was thinking that our luck was running out, I spotted our perfect pumpkin. I was so happy!

10. It was the perfect pumpkin! It was big and completely orange. My Aunt Kate cut the vine and put it into the wagon.

11. My Aunt Kate and I took the pumpkin home, scooped out the pulp, and made a jack o’ lantern.

12. I had a great day spending time with Aunt Kate while picking our perfect pumpkin!
