3 Definitions: Square Root- one of two equal factors of a number. Perfect Square- A number, like 64, whose square root is a rational number. Radical Sign- used to indicate a nonnegative or principal square root of the expression under the radical sign. Principal Square Root- a nonnegative square root of a number.

6 Types of Numbers: Real Numbers - The set of rational numbers and set of irrational numbers together. Natural Numbers- The set of numbers starting at 1,2,3… Integers- The set of natural numbers, and their opposites, including zero. …-2, -1, 0, 1, 2, … Rational Numbers - The set of numbers expressed in the form of a fractions, where a and b are integers and b  0.

7 Irrational Numbers-

8 Name the set or sets of numbers to which each real number belongs.

9 Graph each solution set.
