2.  You should have all your sources  You should have at least 5-7 sub topic ideas  You should have read all your sources  If not, you can not move onto the note card step! You need to catch up ASAP!!! Or……

3.  Make sure all your sub-topics are numbered 1-7  Place that information on one note card  Make sure you number all your sources 1-??  You will need to have 5-7 note cards per sub topic….  If you had 6 sub topics (body paragraph ideas) how many note cards should you have???

4.  On each note card you will have the following:  The source number  The sub topic number  The quote or paraphrase  The page number that the quote or paraphrase was found on  You will have a maximum of 2 quotes per sub topic …the rest need to be paraphrases!

5.  Source numbersub-topic number 2 5 “According to Richard Markel, president of the Association for Wedding Professionals International, the average cost of a wedding in the U.S. is now between $21,000 and $24,000.” Page 4 Notice I have a quote here…it was taken word for word from the source, and I have indicated the source number as well as the page number it was found on.
