2  All citizens must be 18 or older and are legal residents of Massachusetts.  Jury members are choose randomly through:  Voter Registration  Drivers License  Each Juror is entitle to one postponement up to one year for original date.

3  Our Constitutions entitle all the right to jury trial.  This right protects our freedom  Serving as a Juror – Helps protect and ensure our Constitutional rights for all !

4  As a Juror you should…  Listen to the judge  Be fair and impartial  Do not discuss the case  Do not read or research information related to the case

5 BRITAINAMERICA  No special requirements get immediately hired after passing a US bar exam.  British lawyers are called solicitors.  British barristers judges are usually independent rather than salaried or part of a partnership a courthouse  Need to go to college law school get degrees  In America we call them lawyers  Judges in America are usually salaried and have partnerships with courts Britain & America Legal Service

6  First 3 days of Jury Duty your employer is required to pay you.  On the 4 day of Jury Duty the State of Massachusetts will pay you $50.00 a day.

7  1.You are not a U.S. Citizen  2. You are 70 years or older  3. You are under 18 years  4. You cannot speak or understand English  5. You moved permanently outside the U.S.

8  6. You are living outside the U.S for more than a year  7. If you are convicted, charged with a felony in the passed 7 years or in custody  8. If you have served in the passed three years  9. You are physically or mentally incapable  10. You are a primary caregiver for a disabled person in your household
