HIP research group 3 RG status update Mailing list: –http://honor.trusecure.com/mailman/listinfo/hipsec-rg Supplemental web page: –http://www.openhip.org/irtf/wiki Charter –Evaluate benefit/impact of deploying HIP –Experiment with HIP software –Analyze HIP in context of real networks –Prepare report to IESG new wiki

HIP research group 4 wiki input needed Please contribute research papers and project links –http://www.openhip.org/irtf/wiki/

HIP research group 5 Experiment report draft-irtf-hip-experiment-02.txt Our main RG deliverable Intended to capture consensus for the IESG: –What are benefits and consequences of deploying HIP, or other ID/locator split? –What modifications to HIP are recommended? Update to be discussed below

HIP research group 6 draft-irtf-hiprg-nat-01 status “Problem statement for Legacy NAT and Middlebox traversal” by Stiemerling et al. RG agreed to move forward as an independent submission (old procedures) –in current RFC editor’s queue Recently, new IRTF review process established –IRSG review to accelerate the draft –This draft one of three trying the new process (would be removed from current queue)

HIP research group 7 Experiment report

HIP research group 8 draft-irtf-hip-experiment-02 Draft reorganized and updated in four areas: 1.Host stack implications 2.Infrastructure implications 3.Application implications 4.Network operator’s perspective More inputs needed from experimenters and early adopters Initial version (for IAB socialization) by end of year?
