Best Practice Reference Paper for Peace- building 2. Regional Cooperation and its Impact on Surrounding States

3 3 Expressed views on Peace-building ✓ helpful for future cooperation to share lessons and efforts while avoiding duplication ✓ the establishment of good governance and the rule of law ✓ concerted long-term international efforts to realize reconstruction and stabilization ✓ whole-of-government approach ✓ communication plans

4 4 Expressed views on Best Practice Reference Paper (1) - Preparation ❏ formation of units ❏ Education/Training language, establishment of national/regional facilities, exchange of personnel, exchange of information, joint training, collaboration and networking etc. ❏ sharing of information/experiences : database of POC, regional efforts, list of regional events ❏ guidelines/SOPs ❏ Preparation for deployment : comprehensive strategy, good understanding of local background, metal training

5 5 Expressed views on Best Practice Reference Paper (2) - Operations (a) general ❏ neutrality and impartiality ❏ assistance to reconstruction, governance and the rule of law with the emphasis on local ownership ❏ good relation with local leaders and citizens ❏ respect of sovereignty ❏ communication plans ❏ political and legal advisers (b) military-military cooperation ❏ sharing information on the local situation / coordination of activities ❏ logistic support (c) civil-military cooperation ❏ close cooperation with various civil actors ❏ a good understanding of civil-military cooperation, the role of humanitarian organizations etc
