1 Aesthetic Theory Objective: You will learn aesthetic theories in order to discover 3 ways people make art. DRILL: Get your sketchbook. Use 2 pages. Take out yellow vocab sheet. Title page- Aesthetic Theories What is beauty to you? Aesthetics are… What is a mood? Emotionalism is…. Get a Mona Lisa picture. Trace it 2 times on your page. Put a dark color oil pastel on the back. Transfer lines 2 times.

2 Aesthetic Theories~ Aesthetics are… Dealing with one’s personal sense of beauty (Like what is beautiful to you… your clothing, the way a decorator sets up a room… is their aesthetic.) A mood is a feeling. Moods can be portrayed through color, type of lines, and choice of images. What is a color that gives a certain mood?

Objective: You will use techniques that you learned in order to make a surreal artwork that has a 3-dimensional element. DRILL: Seniors ~ sit in the back. Other students ~ Surrealism critique will be on Monday. If finished, do your interpretation, vocab cross-words and word search, then review sheet.

52 Criteria: 5 + objects minimum.
Objects have meaning. Write an interpretation. 3d element. At least one Must be surreal. Use techniques. Finished looking. Papier mache. Paint all cardboard. No tape showing.
