A noun that shows who or what owns something is a possessive noun. To show ownership, add an apostrophe (‘) and –s when the noun is singular. Add just an apostrophe (‘) when the noun is plural. The turkey’s tail The rabbits’ tails

Bob’s dog ran away Mom’s shoes are missing. Those are the boys’ hats. Her sister’s name is Julie. The dog’s collar is red.
