2 What are prosthetics and what are the types?
Prosthetics are the branches of surgery concerned with the replacement of missing body parts with artificial substitutes. There are four kinds of prosthetics transtribal, transfermoral, transradial and transhumeral those prosthetics depend on what limb is missing Prosthetic Video

3 When were they first invented?
In 1898, Dr.Vanghetti invented an artificial limb that could move with through the muscle. The first prosthetic limb was invented in 1863 by Dubious L Parmelee. The first prosthetic was made out of copper and wood.

4 How long does it take to make a prosthetic?
It takes about 5 to 30 days or longer. The fitting process takes a while because the limb needs to be comfortable. Some limbs are harder to fit so the time would depend on that.

5 Do scientists make prosthetics for organs?
Yes scientists do make prosthetics for organs such as heart valves, hearing aids, artificial eyes, palatal lifts, dentures and dental implants.

6 How do they control the prosthetic?
They take the leftover nerves and transfer them so they can control the prosthetic. Isn’t that interesting! Cutting Edge Prosthetics

7 What materials do you use to make the prosthetic limb?
The prosthetic material can be made from foam, lattice and cilia cone.

8 Fun Facts! Prosthetics cost about 6,000 to 7,000 dollars depending on what materials they use. Just like real organs and limbs you need pulses to make the limb or organ work it’s same with prosthetics. Past prosthetic hands had few fingers and could not do many things. Today they have a thumb and four fingers that are controlled individually.
