3. Our goals: Ensure Charter Schools are successful in their applications to DPI. Maximize the benefits and minimize the costs associated with Exceptional Children (EC) programs and services. Expand the capacity of charter schools to effectively educate students with and without disabilities. 3

4. 4 PARTNERSHIP OFFERINGS Services available through Futures include: Start-Up Technical Assistance Professional Development Program Design Mentorship Staffing including Regionalization Other services as requested

5. 5 Start-Up Technical Assistance In partnership with School Leadership Futures will: Assist in writing a proposal Help board members understand the components of the proposal and topics pertinent to education. Help facilitate logistics of opening the school including staffing, curricula, materials, etc.

6. 6 Professional Development In partnership with School Leadership Futures will: Identify needed areas for staff growth (e.g., differentiated instruction). Conduct professional development sessions. Ensure implementation of learned skills with follow-up as needed

7. 7 Program Design In partnership with School Leadership Futures will, subsequent to analyses: Create instructional environments conducive to student achievement and that promote LRE for students with disabilities. Assist in the identification of content- validated resources and materials with the potential for joint purchasing with other schools.

8. 8 Mentorship In partnership with School Leadership Futures will: Work “hand in hand” with requisite personnel in order to build capacity to effectively: Operate an academically rigorous program Support staff and ensure their success Engage students, parents, and the community

9. 9 Staffing In partnership with School Leadership Futures will: Assess staffing needs Interview prospective staff Specialized Staff positions (e.g., speech- language, OT, psychology, etc.) Strategizing/Regionalization of Staffing
