4 4 Vocabulary: Conformity: is a type of social influence involving a change in belief or behavior in order to fit with a group. The change is in response to real (involving the physical appearance of others) or imagined (involving the pressure of social norms or expectations) group pressure.  What is it? Going along with the crowd/yielding (giving in) to group pressure.  Who ‘asks’? Nobody, we act to please peers, friends, or a particular social group.  Why do we do it?
