1 A Short Course on How to Manage SLOs with TracDat

2 Add/Edit/Copy/Delete/View Course Learning Outcomes [SLOs]

3  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab [Default tab – screen opens with it active]  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu]  Click the Add New Course Outcomes button

4  In the Add New Course Outcome page:  Enter SLO Name in the Course Outcome Name field  Enter SLO description in the Course Outcome field  Select SLO Status from drop-down box  Enter Start Date [using calendar icon at right]  Enter End Date [using calendar icon at right] [optional]  Click Save Changes button  Click Return button

5  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu Assessment Unit

6  Select the Course Assessment Plan Tab Courses Assessment Plan tab

7  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab ◦ [Default tab – screen opens with it active] Courses Outcomes sub- tab

8  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu] Courses field [drop-down]

9  Click the Add New Course Outcome button Add New Course Outcome

10 The Add New Course Outcome page will open:

11  Enter SLO Name in the Course Outcome Name field Outcome name

12  Enter SLO description in the Course Outcome field Outcome description

13  Select SLO Status from drop-down box Select SLO Status

14  Enter Start Date [using calendar icon at right] Start Date calendar icon

15  Enter End Date [using calendar icon at right] [optional] End Date [optional]

16  Click Save Changes button SAVE CHANGES

17  Click RETURN button RETURN

18  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu]  Click on Edit link at right across from the SLO you want to modify  Click Save Changes button  Click Return button

19  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu Assessment Unit

20  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab Courses Assessment Plan tab

21  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab ◦ [Default tab – screen opens with it active] Courses Outcomes sub- tab

22  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu] Courses field [drop-down]

23  Select Edit link at right, across from the outcome you want to modify EDIT link

24 In the Edit Course Outcome page:  Make the changes needed Make changes

25  Click Save Changes button SAVE CHANGES

26 In the Edit Course Outcome page:  Click Return button RETURN button

27  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu]  Click on Copy link at right across from the SLO you want to copy  Click Save Changes button  Click Return button

28  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu Assessment Unit

29  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab Courses Assessment Plan tab

30  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab ◦ [Default tab – screen opens with it active] Courses Outcomes sub- tab

31  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu] Courses field [drop-down]

32  Select Copy link at right across from the SLO you want to modify COPY link

33  In the Copy Course Outcome page that opens:  Choose the Course(s) to which you want to copy the SLO [ Note: The current course from which you are copying is checked as a default] Choose the course(s) to copy to Current course checked as default; unclick this if you don’t want a copy in the same course

34  Note: You can also include associated Means of Assessment and Related SLOs to copy Check this box to include Related SLOs Check this box to include Means of Assessment associated with this outcome.

35  Click Save Changes button SAVE CHANGES

36 Warning: If the Outcome has assessments and results attached to it, you have to be careful about deleting it.  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu]  Click on Delete link at right across from the SLO you want to delete  Click Save Changes button  Click Return button

37  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu Assessment Unit

38  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab Courses Assessment Plan tab

39  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab ◦ [Default tab – screen opens with it active] Courses Outcomes sub- tab

40  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu] Courses field [drop-down]

41  Select Delete link at right across from the SLO you want to delete DELETE link

42  You will get a message that says “Are you sure you want to delete this Course Outcome? This will delete all the data associated with this Course Outcome including Results and Assessment Methods. Are you sure you want to delete this data? Yes No  Click “YES” Click “Yes”

43 If your outcome has assessments and results associated with it:  Step 1) First delete the result(s)  Step 2) Then delete the corresponding assessment(s)  Step 3) Finally delete the outcome related to these assessments and results

44  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu]

45  Select Assessment Unit from the top drop down menu Assessment Unit

46  Select Course Assessment Plan Tab Courses Assessment Plan tab

47  Select Course Outcomes sub-tab ◦ [Default tab – screen opens with it active] Courses Outcomes sub- tab

48  Select course from Course field [drop-down menu] Courses field [drop-down]

49  All SLOs entered for that course will show
