3 The Common Loon Gavia Immer The common food source for the common loon is fish. i.e. crayfish and other small bait fish and occasionally a large fish.

4 Great Blue Heron Ardea Herodias The Great Blue Heron wades in shallow waters looking for fish. They also eat lizards, salamanders and snakes.

5 Canada Goose Branta Canadesis Canada Geese are mainly vegetarians but occasionally eat small insects and fish. Their food of choice would be wheat

6 Mallard Anas Platyrhychos Mallards eat a wide variety of things such as insects, vegetation, worms and will also eat grains

7 Wood Duck Aix Sponsa Wood ducks eat seeds, acorns, fruits and aquatic and terrestrial invertebrates

8 Red-Tailed Hawk Bueto Jamaicensis The Red-Tailed Hawk is a bird of prey and mainly feeds on small mammals as well as birds and reptiles. The Hawks diet usually centers around small rodents.

9 Osprey Pandion Haliaetus The main source of food for the osprey is fish. Occasionally it will prey on small rodents and rabbits as well.

10 Bald Eagle Haliaeetus leucocephalus Bald Eagles are very opportunistic and feed mainly on fish. They sometimes will scavenge for food and have been seen at garbage dumps.

11 American Crow Corvus Brachyrhynchos The American crow is an omnivore eating a lot of small invertebrates as well as small mammals and garbage scraps.

12 Red-Headed Woodpecker Melanerpes Erythrocephalus The red-headed woodpecker is omnivorous and eats small insects, spiders, worms, nuts and berries.

13 Ring-Necked Pheasant Phasianus Colchicus Ring-necked Pheasants are omnivores with diet varying by season. In winter, they eat mostly seeds, grains, roots, and berries, while in the summer they take advantage of insects, fresh green shoots, spiders, earthworms, and snails.

14 Wild Turkey Meleagris Gallopavo Turkeys are omnivores. They prefer to eat a lot of hard nuts such as acorns and chestnuts. They occasionally eat small amphibians and small reptiles.

15 American Robin Turdus Migratorius The American Robins diet consists mainly of berries but is supplemented with insects, larva, and worms.

16 Eastern Bluebird Sialia Sialis The Eastern Bluebird eats mainly insects and seeds. It also eats berries and other fruits.

17 Northern Cardinal Cardinalis Cardinalis The Northern Cardinal eats weeds, seeds, grains, insects, and fruits.

18 American Goldfinch Carduelis Tristis The Goldfinch eats plants like thistle, dandelion, ragweed, and sunflowers.

19 Barn Swallow Hirundo Rustica Barn Swallows eat insects usually while on the wing.

20 Blue Jay Cyanocitta cristata Blue Jays will eat almost anything. Seeds, nuts, and even other bird eggs and nestlings.

21 Northern Oriole Icterus Galbula The northern oriole eats adult moths and butterflies, beetles, ants, grasshoppers, wasps and aphids.

22 Ruby Throated Hummingbird Archilochus Colubris The Ruby Throated Hummingbird eats the nectar from flowers.

23 Common Raven Corvus Corax The Raven is a omnivore but mainly eats meat. It will scavenge for food and eat just about anything.
