Purpose of this programme To give older people more choice about where they live by increasing the type and capacity of accommodation based services To ensure there is sufficient residential and nursing home capacity for older people who require it To ensure extra care housing is increased across Hertfordshire (Extra Care Housing being a group of apartments for older people with 24 hour care available) To achieve a better balance of residential care home -v- extra care housing

Objectives of this programme Secure sufficient care capacity, all of a high standard Make best use of resources across partner agencies including revenue funding, capital and land Ensure the right amount of housing related support is available Engage with individuals (current and future tenants) and carers - responding to their views Address the needs of black and minority ethnic service users and carers
