3. Dogs come in all different sized groups. Some small enough to fit into a lady’s handbag and some as big as a small horse.

4. Generally a small dog is considered to weigh less than 10kg or be shorter than 40 cm. Some breeds, such as the Chihuahua, are the smallest of the small... weighing in at only 2.5 to 3.5 kg and standing only 15 to 25 cm tall. While the larger of the small breeds like the Staffordshire Bull Terrier weigh 10 to 15 kg and stand at 35 to 40 cm tall.

7. Medium sized dog breeds are all about the same size, but they still are unique from each other when it comes to appearance, activity needs, and temperament such as the Afghan Hound and the Border Collie.

10. There is no universal height or weight at which a breed is classified as a large breed; any large dogs fall into this category, although some groups define "giant breed" based on a certain height or weight, such as 45 kg. Labrador Retrievers & Dalmatians are examples of large dogs.
