2 Size and Terms There are 435 members of the House. Seats are apportioned to states based on population. No term limit, but elected every two years!!

3 Reapportionment Redistribution of seats occurs every decennial(ten years). Reapportionment Act of 1929: – Set permanent size at 435 – States receive seats proportionately

4 Congressional Elections Elections are held on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November of each even- numbered year. Non-presidential year elections are called off- year elections.

6 House Qualifications- Formal 1. 25 years of age 2. U.S. citizen for at least seven years. 3. Must live in the state you are being elected from.
