Post Assessment and Continued Teaching I used post assessment in the same manner that pre assessment was implemented…to drive the education further into the next class period or into the next lesson. In 3 rd Grade, the team does not accept post assessment scores lower than 90 as satisfactory. Therefore, students who made 90 or above were given extension activities, while the others worked with me to gain further understanding before moving on.

Using Technology for Enrichment

Reflection and Analysis Division: I would change a few things... Adjectives: I wouldn't change ANYTHING! Magnets: Transitions were a little crazy...

Professionalism “As always, Candidate displays a great rapport with students.” “Lesson was well-planned and students were actively engaged in the learning process.” “Teacher's delivery and presentation of skills was energizing and engaging. Use of overhead, additional reading material, graphic organizer, and rubric helped students reach a deeper understanding of adjectives.” Comments from Professor Glaze, taken from DIALS 2, 3, and 4.

Professional Organizations Member of PAGE since 2002, the first full year I was employed by Bartow County School System Current member of SPAGE since August 2012

My Teaching Philosophy Before the Reinhardt Experience Montessori method – Student guides instruction, learning is almost entirely student-led with teacher intervention when necessary Classroom is a democracy-we all get a vote regarding what goes on Lots of student choices Now Bloom’s Taxonomy- Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating, Creating Assessment Driven Instruction Differentiation It is my goal to ensure that I am one teacher who strives not to let one student “fall through the cracks”!

What Do I Do NOW????? Take a moment, breathe, and CELEBRATE!!!!! Meet tomorrow (Thursday) with my new team in preparation for my Certified Sub position at Hamilton Crossing Elementary for the Pre-k teacher’s maternity leave: January-April 2013 Take and pass the Special Education GACE for General Curriculum on January 5, 2013, so I will be dually Certified in Early Childhood Ed and Special Ed Keep up with the current trends in education via journals and research articles Consider the pursuit of a Master’s Degree in the near future, before I forget how good being out of the classroom feels!

Special Thanks To all of my Reinhardt Professors, the financial aid and business office employees, this cohort of fantastic fellow students- I will forever be grateful for the time I have spent on this campus. Friendships have formed, I have met true professionals who will always be treasured, and one day… one day a long, long time from now, I will miss being a student at Reinhardt University!
