2 2015-2016 Assessment Updates Missouri Assessment Program Grade Level Assessments End-of-Course Assessments ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 MAP-A ACT Personal Finance Phase out of Windows XP/Phase in of Windows 10

3 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments Goals for 2015-2016: 1.Assess the current content standards. 2.Online assessments. 3.Keep the same testing platform.

4 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments CTB has been purchased by DRC and school districts will experience a transition away from the CTB logo and identity during the 2015-2016 school year. The spring testing window will be April 4, 2016 to May 27, 2016. Content aligned to the current Missouri Learning Standards. Items will have the same look and format as the spring 2015 items. Grades 5 and 8 English language arts will continue to have an extended writing task.

5 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments Tests will be administered in DRC INSIGHT. DRC eDIRECT will be used for the MAP Portal, and PRISM will be used for reporting. Online tools trainings (OTTs) using CCR items will be available for each grade and content area. An implementation timeline will be released in early fall. 5 th and 8 th grade science will remain consistent with spring 2015. English language arts and mathematics blueprints will be released in early fall.

6 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments Applying lessons learned and feedback received from school districts to the 2015-2016 assessments. Tools and accommodations have been tweaked to reduce confusion. Assessments remain untimed as in spring 2015.

7 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments English Language Arts and Mathematics Items licensed from DRC. 50-70 items per grade level and content area Extended writing task at grades 5 and 8. Missouri educator review meeting in September/October 2015. Cut point validation in June/July 2016. Data, student reports, and student labels available September 1, 2016.

8 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments English Language Arts and Mathematics Interim Assessments Classroom Diagnostic Tools (CDT) Licensed from DRC and available November 2, 2015 through May 29, 2016 Content aligned to current Missouri Learning Standards Tests will be administered in DRC INSIGHT. DRC eDIRECT will be used for the MAP Portal, and PRISM will be used for reporting. Online tools trainings (OTTs) using CDT items will be available for each grades 3-5 and 6-8 in content area.

9 2015-2016 Grade Level Assessments English Language Arts and Mathematics Interim Assessments The Classroom Diagnostic Tools (CDT) are not predictive to the state summative assessment. The Classroom Diagnostic Tools will be available for the following content areas: Mathematics (3-5) Mathematics (6-8) Reading (3-5) Reading (6- 8)

10 2015-2016 End-of-Course Assessments Continue with iTester Testing Windows Fall – October 5 through January 22 Spring – February 22 through May 27 Summer – June 6 through August 26 EOCs used for state accountability remain the same.

11 2015-2016 Access for ELLs 2.0 English Language Proficiency Assessment The majority of the assessment moves from paper/pencil to online Tests will be administered using DRC INSIGHT. Detailed information and training will be available in early fall 2015.

12 2015-2016 MAP-A English language arts and mathematics will be instructionally embedded assessments. Science will be a single administration in spring 2016. Continue with KITE client as the platform. Windows XP will not be supported in 2015- 2016. Testing Windows Spring – April 4 through May 27

13 2015-2016 ACT Both paper/pencil along with online version will be available in Missouri. District choice to move online. No accommodations available in online version of ACT. Full online system specifications will be available in early fall. Private school and private student testing

14 2015-2016 ACT Testing Dates Paper/Pencil – April 19 Make up Paper/Pencil – May 3 Accommodated Paper/Pencil – April 19 through May 3 Online Testing – April 19 through May 3

15 Personal Finance Free to school districts. Online. Students competency testing out of personal finance and students enrolled in an embedded personal finance course must take the personal finance assessment.

16 Windows XP/Windows 10 MAP-A platform no longer supports. Access for ELLs 2.0 does not support. The phase out of Windows XP for Grade Level assessments and EOCs will be announced soon and districts should prepare. The phase in of Windows 10 will be announced early in fall 2015.

17 Odds and Ends Student participation in state assessments. Revised Statute160.570.2 The school board of each school district shall establish a written policy on student participation in statewide assessments. The policy shall be provided to each student and the parent, guardian or other person responsible for every student under eighteen years of age at the beginning of each school year and a copy of the policy shall be maintained in the district office and shall be available for viewing by the public during business hours of the district office. A school board may establish a policy designed to encourage students to give their best efforts on each portion of any statewide assessment established pursuant to section 160.518 which may include but is not limited to incentives or supplementary work as a consequence of performance. 160.518 LEA Guide to Assessments.
