Austin Bogdanski

Computer hardware engineers research, design, develop, and test new computers and components such as processers, memory devices, circuit boards, networks, and routers. By research and creating new hardware they create rapid advances in technology. Building the next best thing would be awesome, and then I’ll rich and famous. It’s a win win. This career fits under the scientific research and engineering cluster.

Values- Hard worker, okay with working with others. Tasks and Responsibilities- Research and develop new computer hardware. Working with people, things, and data- Computer engineers work with all three. They have co workers to help them develop new things. They work with many tools and computers. They need to use the information they know about computers to make them better.

Work Environment- They usually work in research labs to design and test new computers. Work Hours- They usually have 40 hour work weeks, except when deadlines pressure calls for more hours. Aptitude and Abilities- Need to have good knowledge of how computers work, and a good willingness to learn.

Education and Training- They must have at least a bachelors degree engineering. Beginners work with experienced engineers. Salary and Benefits- On average computer engineers make about $98,820 a year. Career Outlook- With rapid advancements in technology, there will need to be people to fix and make computers to run everything. 8 Values- Devoted, hard worker, good with computers. Tasks & Responsibilities- They figure out the process of designing, writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining the source code of a computer. Working With People, Data, & Things- Programmers work with all the information about how computers work and they use computers to write and fix the codes.

Work Environment- Some Programmers can work from home, most however work in clean, comfortable offices, and spend most of the rime in front of a computer. Work Hours- They work 40 hour weeks, overtime might be required to meet deadlines. Aptitude & Abilities- Good with sitting in front of a computer all day, great knowledge of how software works and the language that goes with it.

Education & Training- IT degrees, certificates in specific languages. It would be helpful to have experience in programming. Salary & Benefits- Programmers earn a median pay of $71,000. Career Outlook- With advancements in technology, jobs are showing steady growth, experts expect a 12%employment increase by 2020.

International Outlook- Computer jobs are everywhere and are becoming more common than ever. Programming jobs are everywhere. They are very common in California.
