3 What is New? New Program starts June 1, 2015, for all except current Webelos I (4th graders) Transition program Do all new program for school year (Arrow of Light) Continue on old program (Webelos II year) Do a mix of both Arrow of Light is own rank (5th Grade) Do not need to earn Webelos Rank first Although can earn rank by Blue and Gold, not encouraged

Belt Loop program discontinued officially June 1, but will continue until supplies run out Best of Belt Loop program has been incorporated into new program Can buy Adventure loops and pins without paperwork More emphasis on active learning vs passive learning Over 75 professional and volunteer Scouters have worked over 2-years

5 Annual Unit Program Planning
FUN of Cub Scouting is still there! Pack program events can help support adventure requirements. Outdoor adventures, Pack campfire and Pack overnight camping. Using the Cub Scout Adventure Analysis Worksheet in planning your annual program.

9 Planning Pack Meetings
Pack meeting plans that support the new program and the 12 points of the Scout Law will be posted April 1 to . While the points of the Scout Law are not in the order as members of the BSA recite them, it is important to cover each of them over a 12-month period in the pack meetings.

12 Adventure Requirements Supported at Pack Meetings
Review the leaders’ den meeting plans. Some requirements will benefit from pack meeting coordination. For example: “Grin and Bear It” adventure Pack Carnival

14 Recognition at Pack Meetings
Recognizing Adventure Loops and Pins Earned at Pack Meetings Have the den stand and be recognized for the adventure loop to be awarded. (Award should have been presented at the den meeting where it was earned.) Adapt the advancement ceremony for the month’s theme into an adventure loop presentation if no rank badges are being presented.

15 Recognition at Pack Meetings
Other Options By den, call the names of those Cub Scouts who have completed the month’s adventure to come forward. Have the den leader pass out the awards to the boys while the Cubmaster gives them a Cub Scout handshake. If time allows, invite the den leader or den chief to speak about the adventure work done for that month, and have the den stand and be recognized. Use a positive cheer/song to recognize their accomplishments.
