“It is Well” When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul. Horatio Spafford (1828-1888)

Paul’s Peace “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The Holy Bible : English standard version. 2001 (Php 4:7). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The Holy Bible, New International Version. Pradis CD-ROM:Phil 4:7.

The Peace Connection The peace of God is that eternal calm which lies far too deep in the praying, trusting soul to be reached by any external disturbances. —A. T. Pierson Morgan, R. J. (2000). Nelson's complete book of stories, illustrations, and quotes (electronic ed.) (604). Nashville: Thomas Nelson Publishers. Where do you find such a calm?

The Prince of Peace “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9.6) Do you want to be in the Kingdom of Peace?

Peace = Reconciliation “For in him all the fullness of God pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” (Colossians 1.19-20)  True peace for you began at the cross! 

Steps to Peace Be reconciled (Colossians 1.19-20) Put away anxiety ( Matthew 6.24-34) Putting away anxiety involves trust. (Romans 8.28) Be content (Philippians 4.11) Being content involves strength. (Philippians 4.13) Develop an attitude for others. (Romans 12.18) (2 Corinthians 13.11)
