1 Persuasive Essay Structure
Five paragraph essay Introduction with a thesis statement First Supportive Paragraph Second Supportive Paragraph Third Supportive Paragraph (COUNTERARGUMENT ) Conclusion

2 Introduction The thesis statement is the last sentence of your introduction. It states your opinion and how you are going to prove your opinion. Thesis statement- Despite what dog lovers may believe, cats make excellent house pets because they are affectionate, they are not loud or disruptive, and they are easy to take care of.

3 Argument #1 (First supportive paragraph)- Cats are affectionate
Many cats are affectionate. They will snuggle up and ask to be petted, or scratched under the chin. If they're not feeling affectionate, cats are generally quite playful. Contrary to popular opinion, cats can be trained.

4 Argument #2-Second Supportive Paragraph- Cats are not loud or disruptive.
Unlike dogs, cats do not bark or make other loud noises. Cats also don't often have "accidents.“ Cats do have claws, and owners must make provision for this.

5 Argument #3-Third Supportive Paragraph- Cats are easy to take care of.
Cats do not have to be walked. Cats also take care of their own grooming. In addition, cats can be left home alone for a few hours without fear.

6 Conclusion Restate your three main ideas that support your original thesis statement.
