2 What does it mean to be a Title 1 School? The federal government has put the Elementary Secondary Education Act (ESEA) in place in an effort to level the playing field in order for all students to be successful. Schools qualify as Title I based on the number of free & reduced lunches served. LGE’s free & Reduced lunch percentage was 64.3%

6 What is the Title I Parent Involvement Plan? Curriculum Events Family Resource Center Support Programs for Students S.I.E.P. and Saturday School Family Fun Nights PTO Events Communication: newsletters, agendas, students handbook, conferences, website, marquee, email, homework folders, special announcements and memos, Campus Messenger, etc.

8 What is the Henry County Schools Family Outreach Compact? Specifically, it outlines strategies that will ensure effective home and school partnerships to share and to support high academic achievement and success for every student.

9 Parent Involvement Compact-draft These will go home Tuesday. These describe how the students, parents, and school will WORK TOGETHER to do everything possible to ensure STUDENT SUCCESS!

10 What is our AYP status? Locust Grove Elementary DID make AYP for the 2010-2011 school year. Explanation of subgroups and our plan for success for the 2011-2010 school year.

12 What can I do to ensure success for my child? Check your child’s agenda each day. Communicate with your child’s teachers regularly. Help your child with his/her homework. Read with your child. Read all information that may come home from the school

Math 3-5 SWD will increase from 553.8% ME to 58.42% on Spring 2012 CRCT Math 3-5 All students will increase from 77.9% ME to 80.24% on Spring 2012 CRCT Math 3-5 White students will increase from 78.8% ME to 81.16% (AMO) ME on Spring 2012 CRCT Math 3-5 black students will increase from 74.4% ME to 76.96% ME on Spring 2012 CRCT Math All PL 1 students will increase to at least 800 on CRCT Spring 2012 Math K students will increase from 82.4%ME on GKIDS to 95% ME on Spring 2012 GKIDS Math 1 st students will increase from 1.4% ME on August pretest to 78% ME on May posttest Math 2 nd students will increase from 2% ME on August GRASP to 80ME on May GRASP Reading 3-5 SWD will increase ME from 74.4% to 76.96% ME on Spring 2012 CRCT

19 How can parents be involved in the learning community of LGE? Be a part of the policy making meetings. Attend parent conferences. Be a part of PTO. Be a part of School Council. Be a part of the Mentor Program. Attend Parent Workshops and Family Events. Be a part of Wildcat SuperDads. Complete surveys.
