The Greenhouse Effect By Simon Langford and Mitch Franklin

What is the Greenhouse Effect? The Greenhouse effect is the heating of the atmosphere from infrared radiation reflected from the Earths Surface being stored as heat in the CO2 in that atmosphere. Naturally the greenhouse effect exists to keep the earths surface temperature within a constant degree of variation, however with our increased carbon dioxide emissions more heat is being trapped within the atmosphere causing the Earths ambient and surface temperatures to rise.

What Causes the Greenhouse Effect? Cars, Trucks, Automobiles Coal Burning Electricity Generation Aircraft Humans/Animals The greenhouse effect is caused by CO2 emissions from the following:

What are the impacts of the Greenhouse effect? There are many impacts of the greenhouse effect that are slowly becoming noticeable to humans. One of these issues is the earths surface temperature increasing, causing the melting of polar glacial ice caps, which in turn will cause the sea level to rise.

What can we do to reduce CO2? It takes up to 100 years for CO2 to dissipate from the atmosphere, so the only real solution is to dramatically reduce the amount of CO2 we produce. We can do this through the use of more energy devices such as: -Energy efficient light globes -Reducing the amount of time spent driving in a car -Consider alternative energy sources -Consider electric cars (Tesla Roadster!)
