3 Levels of Access to DRA Online
Speaker 4/25/2017 1:32:42 AM Levels of Access to DRA Online District Administrator Required if DRA OMS purchased at District Level School Administrator Required if there is no District Administrator Teacher Required Report Analyst Optional One more thing I’d like to review before we look at technology requirements and begin the registration process --is the levels of access to the DRA Online. There are 4 types of users in the DRA Online, and therefore 4 levels of access. First we have the District and/or School Administrator. The District/School Administrator sets up the system in each district/school, providing billing information, registering teachers and students, and assisting teachers as needed. The Administrator can be a technology specialist, reading specialist, or district representative. The third type of user is the Teacher. Teachers are key to the DRA Online Management System. The teacher enters the DRA records for each student. Student assessment records only reside with one teacher, so they remain consistent and accurate. Finally, we have a role called the Report Analyst. This role enables administrators or other persons who need to have access to the data to generate student progress reports in read-only mode. In other words, this type of user cannot input any type of information into the DRA Online. However, data is available and organized at the individual student, class, school and district level for their review and analysis. DTS Meeting 5-23 & 24-01

5 DRA Online: Getting Started Administrators
Speaker 4/25/2017 1:32:42 AM DRA Online: Getting Started Administrators Identify your District- or School-level Manager for the DRA Online. Responsibilities include: Registering online Implementing the DRA Online for each district/school by registering teachers & uploading (and maintaining) student information Customizing the DRA Online, i.e. setting up benchmarks Assisting teachers as needed For your reference: the Implementation Checklist Step # 1 involves Identifying your District- or School-level Manager for the DRA Online. Your District- or School-level manager of the DRA Online is the Central point of contact for the DRA Online Management System within the District or school. There is one District-level manager for the district and one school-level manager for each school. Responsibilities of this user include: Registering online (P.O. number can be provided directly online) Implementing the DRA Online for each district/school by registering teachers & uploading (and maintaining) student information Customizing the DRA Online, like customizing the demographics and setting up district benchmarks Assisting teachers as needed To review the responsibilities of and resources available to each user of the DRA Online, you can refer to the Implementation Checklist. The link for this Adobe PDF file is provided as part of this presentation and can be accessed by clicking on it in the lower right-hand corner of your screen. DTS Meeting 5-23 & 24-01

6 Once you Register…(Administrator)
Speaker 4/25/2017 1:32:42 AM Once you Register…(Administrator) You will receive: Confirmation Approval and Notification s Once this process is complete, Approval and Notification s include the directions and link for you to login immediately. You may receive other s periodically notifying you of updates to the DRA Online, or notifying you that another user is requesting permission to become a Report Analyst on the DRA Online. Such a request would require your approval to enable another user in your school or district to view the DRA assessment data. DTS Meeting 5-23 & 24-01

7 Registering Teachers First Name Last Name E-mail address Employees ID
Speaker 4/25/2017 1:32:42 AM Registering Teachers To register the teachers who will be using the DRA Online: Login & go to the “User Management” link Click on Upload Users List of Teachers: First Name Last Name address Employees ID School name NOTE: lists must be tab-delimited text (.txt) files Step #2: Registering teachers is also very easy. Simply login to your district or school administrator account and go to the “Register Teachers” link from the menu page. Then Click on List Upload at the bottom of the page. You’ll need to start with a list of your teachers that must contain the following fields: Title (Mr, Mrs, etc.) First Name Last Name address And the school name (if you are registering teachers across multiple schools all at once) All the remaining fields are optional (like Middle name and employee ID). School name is not required if you are registering teachers in only one school at a time. Please note that your teacher list must be saved as a tab-delimited text file from any database or spreadsheet program. You can download the Teacher Upload file from the link below in the lower right-hand corner. Or if you prefer, complete the registration form manually for each teacher. This is what the form looks like online. Once teachers are registered, the Teacher Registration Notification will be sent and Teachers will have an opportunity to create their individual login and passwords for themselves. This last step must be completed by the teachers themselves by reading the notification they receive from the DRA Online and following the link and instructions contained in the . DTS Meeting 5-23 & 24-01

8 Registering Students Who can register students?
Speaker 4/25/2017 1:32:42 AM Registering Students Who can register students? Teachers: one-by-one, manually Administrators: through lists only Recommendation: if this is a district implementation, upload the students centrally at the Administrator level to avoid duplicate entries Step #3: Once teachers finish their own registration by creating a login and password, they can register the students in their class so that they may be able to then enter student DRA results. Student registration can also be done through a Student Upload by a District or School Administrator. This should be done as soon as the Teacher Upload is complete. This is really the preferred method of student registration if the DRA Online is being implemented at the District level. Please be aware that student uploads should be completed as closely to the teacher uploads as possible. Teachers cannot load student lists, so if you decide that the teachers will input their own class lists, this must be done from the teacher accounts through the Register Students link.
