2. 2 Challenge the future How to use the livescribe echo pen Take the pen and the notebook with you. Turn on the pen with the power button. After a few seconds the pen will be ready for use. To begin the assignment: Click record at the bottom of the page to start recording. A timer will show you how much time has past. You have two (2) hours for this exercise. Write the module number and the group number on every page. To finish the assignment: Click stop at the bottom of the page to stop recording. The total recording time will be displayed. Turn off the pen with the power button. The display goes blank. Bring the pen and notebook back to your coach so he/she can download the data and upload it to Dropbox.

3. 3 Challenge the future Important information! This pen records your sketching and sound! Do not write on any other paper except the dedicated smartpen notebook and do not write with any other pen. Each group works together, thinks together and discuss what they do. Do not split into parallel tasks. To spare yourself, your fellow students and us a lot of trouble please do not use the other controls at the bottom of the smartpen notebook page. Do not experiment during the course of this exercise. If you’d like a demo of the capabilities of the pen, ask one of your instructors at some other time.
