3 Importance of chart Chart is a graphical way to present numerical data which is sometimes hard to look at. Compare the two ways of presentation below, can you easily find out the overall situation of the average marks?

Showing comparison between different sets of data.

5 Types of charts Line chart Showing changing trend of a set of data

Showing the percentage proportions among data items

7 Types of charts XY scatter chart
Displaying the relationship between two sets of data, i.e. a set of data for the X coordinate, another set of data for Y coordinate, both together form a point on the chart.
