4  July 3, 1608, Samuel de Champlain settled on Quebec’s shoreline.  In 1774 the British passed the Quebec act. This allowed the colony to retain its language and customs.

5  Samuel de Champlain is the founder of Quebec.  Born in Brouage, France in 1567  Nicknamed “The Father of New France

8  Jacques Cartier was a French explorer that landed in Quebec in 1535.  A winter carnival is held every year from January to February.  Quebec city is 400 years old and is the oldest French speaking community in North America.  Largest Canadian Province.

9 Poutine is a common food in Quebec. It is made up of fries, Gravy, and cheese curls. Bagels are another tasty meal in Quebec.
