2 Polio …  Is caused by a virus  Is transmitted via fecal-oral route  Is characterized by acute onset disease Has an incubation period from 7 to 10 days  Most commonly affects children < 5 years  Only reservoir is humans  3 types : WPV 1, 2 & 3
