1July 2007 Uniflair pCO1 Simulator

2 pCO1 simulator is composed by: 1 pCO1 Medium motherboard 1 power supply cable 1 UG40 user terminal 1 black telephonic cable Inside the white box the Driver isn’t present. So it means that the EVD400 driver, which is the direct controller of the electronic valve isn’t connected inside. It’s a simulator, so there’s no reason for it. This absence gives at the user terminal the alarm that the driver of the valve is disconneted. You can ignore it or disable it each time you use the simulator. Introduction

3 Going inside: Service menu >> EXV Valve Settings >> Main settings There will be a mask composed in this way: Pressing in this moment, at the same time, UP+DOWN buttons will appear the mask that will permit you to disable this alarm Introduction

4 The simulator, having inside the pCO1 motherboard (medium size), can simulate all the units that inside have installed: pCO1 small pCO1 small pCO1 medium pCO1 medium pCOc pCOc upCOxs upCOxs In this way Leonardo Evolution units Amico units ARAnew Big chiller (need 2 simulators) Can be simulated using the simulator. Introduction

5 To load the correct software inside the simulator you must behave like in front of a “true” unit, That’s using the Smart key or the winload software: Smart key is an electronic device used to program and service pCO system or µC3 family controllers. Smart Key simplifies the transfer of data between pCO controllers and PC by exploiting the high capacity flash memory for storing software applications, Bios and variable logs. Software upload

6 I WANT TO TRANSFER FILES FROM THE COMPUTER TO THE SMARTKEY In order to permit the transfer of the data from the computer to the Smartkey, it is necessary to use the Smartkey usb converter (the white one). Through this converter the key will take the supply from the computer. When the leds of this converter will start blinking, it means that the connection is ok. If it’s the first time the converter is used, the drivers are mandatory and must be installed once connected the converter. It’s important selecting the correct serial port, otherwise the connection won’t start. Smart key has a sufficient memory, able to store a kit with a lot of languages, but it can save only one kit per time. Software upload

7 I WANT TO TRANSFER FILES FROM THE COMPUTER TO THE pCO In order to permit the transfer of the data from the computer to the Smartkey, what is needed is only the USB convert. This converter permits permits the connection between USB and RS485. If it’s the first time the converter is used, the drivers are mandatory and must be installed once connected the converter. It’s important selecting the correct serial port, otherwise the connection won’t start. If there is the need to upload also the bios, it is important to install as first the bios, and then the application files. Software upload

8 Always remember that the simulator’s behaviour is the same of the true unit’s one, so after the new software upload you must make a program setup, in order to clean the memory. After that the program must be once again configured for the unit I want to simulate: For example direct expansion or chilled water, or one/two compressor, and so on. Software upload

9 Regarding the Leonardo Evolution, this is the INPUTS/OUTPUTS tables, usefull to understand the different trimmer and switchs: Inputs/Outputs table

10 Inputs/Outputs table

11 Inputs/Outputs table

12 With that table, you will be ready to work with the pCO1 simulator, for example looking how the unit behaves in accord to a temperature change, or simulating alarms, controlling manually the various components, simulating a LAN connection (you need more than 1 board for this), and a lot of other features. Conclusion
