2. Announcements / Reminders  Make-up Socratic seminar will be held on Wednesday, October 1 st after school. You must attend if you were absent, or it becomes a “0” in the grade book.  Last day to take Unit 1 Assessment is Monday after school ONLY if you have an excused absence.  Honors Meeting #2 will take place on Tuesday, September 30 th. It will begin at 3:15 at end at about 4:10. Your performance task is due that day. Be ready for the Socratic seminar!

The Roaring Twenties  Part I: Read and annotate your article independently.  Part II: When you’re finished, write a written response to the following prompt:  The 1920s were an age of dramatic social and political change. Identify two examples from the article that support this claim. Be sure to cite the text where appropriate.

At the time of its publication, it cost only $2  Set in the Roaring Twenties  Genre: Modernist novel  Resulted in 6 different film adaptations  During the 50s and 60s, The Great Gatsby became staple for 11th grade English classes  Many if not all characters were based on real people that Fitzgerald knew  Fun fact*: Fitzgerald was named after his cousin who wrote the lyrics to “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
