10 1 Compare how language and layout are used for effect in. ‘Two Scavengers in a Truck, Two Beautiful People in a Mercedes’ (page 8) with the ways language and layout are used for effect in one other poem of your choice from the Poems from Different Cultures. THE REPETITION IS USED FOR EFFECT HERE TO EMPHASISE THE TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE THE SLAVES ARE GOING THROUGH ON THE CRAMPED AND DANGEROUS SLAVE SHIP.
