1 The Proper Attitude Toward “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1)

2 Approach it with Respect Moses approaching the burning bush –Exodus 3:1-5 “put off thy shoes, for this is holy ground” Must have great respect for the Bible –John 12:48 Must have a good attitude –Romans 8:38-39 “I know it says that…but…” –Luke 14:25-27 The Bible is a light and lamp –Psalms 119:105; 1 Thessalonians 2:13

3 Recognize it as Infallible “Infallible” – Free from error The perfect law of liberty –James 1:25; Psalms 19:7 It is for our perfection –Ephesians 4:12 Develop a love for the Word of God –Isaiah 55:8-9; Galatians 1:10

4 Accept it as All Sufficient Sufficient guide and pattern –2 Timothy 3:16-17; Titus 1:1-3 –“God Breathed” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10; 2 Peter 1:21 –Man is the liar – God is true! Romans 3:4 Cannot change that –If so, human philosophy and religious error is bound to happen

5 Determine to be Guided by it If we refuse to be guided by it – we have no place in heaven –Revelation 22:14; 2 John 1:9 “speak, for your servant hears” –1 Samuel 3:10 Purify your souls by obeying the truth –1 Peter 1:22 Guided by His Word – then united in truth

6 WE MUST Approach it with respect Recognize it as infallible Believe it to be sufficient Be willing to be guided by it

7 Baptism IS Essential For remission of sins –Acts 2:38 To save us –1 Peter 3:20-21 To put us into Christ –Galatians 3:27 To reject baptism – is to reject God! –Luke 7:30 Won’t you reverently accept the Word of God?
