4 Hampton Roads ASHRAE/IFMA Chapters Energy for Kids (E4K) Projects Helps local charities lower costs related to HVAC&R and domestic hot water Funds raised from pig roasts used to upgrade HVAC&R systems for various charities: – St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children – ForKids – family homeless – Habitat for Humanity. – Local YWCA

5 ASHRAE Sustainable Footprint Project Launched in 2008 by Utah Chapter Goal: – leave a legacy representing ASHRAE's commitment to sustainability – offset the environmental impact from holding the Annual Conference Now custom for the Annual Conference host city to select project – Project technical and financial support provided by ASHRAE local and national membership community

6 ASHRAE Annual Conference Salt Lake City, Utah, 2008 YWCA of Salt Lake City’s Teen Home Utah Chapter provided four solar panels and additional storage capacity for domestic hot water use Replaces some 100 decatherms of natural gas per year; reduces carbon footprint by over 10,000 pounds of CO 2. annual, saving $650 a year

7 ASHRAE Annual Conference Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 2011 Accueil Bonneau Homeless Shelter $20,000 contribution from Montreal Chapter 7 Polytechnique students design, install solar power system Saves shelter $3,600 a year on its gas bill, as well as produce 12.2 fewer tonnes of CO 2

8 ASHRAE Annual Conference San Antonio, Texas, 2012 Eco Centro Facility Sustainability Training Eco Centro Facility Sustainability Training Alamo Chapter to help San Antonio Colleges’ EcoCentro introduce sustainable building design and maintenance concepts to students, faculty and neighboring residents

9 ASHRAE Annual Conference Denver, Colorado, 2013 Denver Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter Rocky Mountain Chapter committed to replacing shelter’s aged and deteriorating systems to improve efficiency and increase occupant comfort
