SCENARIO 1: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX STEP 1: USER SELECTS SAMPLES USING BOUNDING BOX AREA (and/or by typing in bounding box coordinates) From WFS From WMS (GA can provide this)

Notes about step 1 Rob A mentioned that it would be easier for Web Map Composer to actually zoom to the selected area rather than just highlight select points Alternatively if we provide a WMS coverage of points (which Geoserver should be able to do without any problems) this may make the highlighting of selected points from the WFS easier to do, it also may be required later on for step 2 of scenario 2. Obviously we’ll need to test this out

SCENARIO 1: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX STEP 2: USER HITS GET ME ALL DATA FROM SELCTED SPECIMENS BUTTON Get Geochemistry Data

SCENARIO 1: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX STEP 3:DEMONSTRATOR PROVIDES A LIST OF DOWNLOADABLE FORMS

Notes on Step 3 I asked Rob A whether it might be possible to download the data as an XL spreadsheet and he thought this would not be too much trouble The other options are as you see them on the screenshot above (ie XML, some kind of text file, or as a html page rendered by SVG)

SCENARIO 1: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX STEP 4: SYSTEM RETURNS FILE OF GEOCHEMISTRY DATA THAT USER CAN GO OFF AND PLAY WITH

SCENARIO 2: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX AND ANALYTE VALUE STEP 1: USER SELECTS SAMPLES USING BOUNDING BOX AREA (See notes from step1 above)

SCENARIO 2: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX AND ANALYTE VALUE STEP 2: USER REFINES SEARCH BY SELECTING SAMPLES BY SOME ANALYTE CRITERIA > 5 Refine Search

SCENARIO 2: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX AND ANALYTE VALUE > 5 Refine Search Get Geochemistry Data STEP 3: USER HITS GET ME ALL DATA FROM SELCTED SPECIMENS BUTTON

SCENARIO 2: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX AND ANALYTE VALUE > 5 Refine Search STEP 4:DEMONSTRATOR PROVIDES A LIST OF DOWNLOADABLE FORMS (See notes from step 3 above)

SCENARIO 2: SELECT SAMPLES BY BOUNDING BOX AND ANALYTE VALUE > 5 Refine Search Get Geochemistry Data STEP 5: SYSTEM RETURNS POP UP PAGE OR FILE OF GEOCHEMISTRY DATA THAT USER CAN GO OFF AND PLAY WITH

SCENARIO 3: AFTER SAMPLE SELECTION (of either scenario of 1 or 2) > 5 Refine Search Get Sample Detail Data STEP 1: USER HITS GET ME ALL SELECTED DATA BY SAMPLE DETAIL

SCENARIO 3: AFTER SAMPLE SELECTION (of either scenario of 1 or 2) > 5 Refine Search Get Sample Detail Data STEP 3: USER SCROLLS THROUGH DETAILDE RESULTS BY BY SAMPLE ID

Notes on scenario 3 On the twiki there was a report page specified by I don’t understand if this was for all the measurements against a single sample, or all measurements for all selected samples
