1. Ways to Prepare for Science Tests 1. Plan a schedule: how many days do you have to prepare? What other commitments do you need to plan around? Write down what blocks of time you will devote to Science. Ideally, it will be 20 minutes a day, for 5 days.

2. 2. Assemble materials: compare your binder to an organized friend’s. Is it complete? If not, recopy materials, or ask teacher for extra handouts.

3. 3. Reread assigned pages, looking at diagrams and captions as you go. Make a list of questions you want to ask the teacher, so you don’t forget to do so in or out of class.

4. 4. Redo assigned questions, worksheets, and vocabulary. Cover the old answers as you review.

5. 5. Visual learners: make a huge colourful chart/mind map diagram of the concepts learned. Colours will help you visualize the facts during the test.

6. 6. Teach what you learned to a friend or family member. That will reveal whether you really understand what you read.

7. 7. Make up your own questions, and practice answering them. Trade with a classmate.
