2 Can humans perform miracles? Philosophy homework 21/3/13

3 Can humans perform miracles? Sometimes, people can do extraordinary things. Mothers are known to lift cars off their child to save them. Many people have also tried it on television. People may class it as a miracle. After all, it is unusual for humans to experience such strength. Plus, they were saving their child in the process. Magicians have tried to walk on water. Some magicians however are fakes. In my opinion, I think ultimate, sudden strength is pretty great, but I don’t think it’s a miraculous occurrence. Humans want to protect their genes, and since their child is their genes, the mind wants to protect them. In my opinion it’s the state of mind that makes people have such strength. Jesus walked on water. I’m not sure if people can walk on water like Jesus. In my opinion gravity would probably cause someone to fall in to the water. However, Jesus was the Son of God so he could. If humans can walk on water, I think they’d have to get in the right mindset, like lifting a car. But I think that would be incredibly hard, and may not even be possible. In my opinion

4 Does God work in the world? Evaluation

5 Does God work in the world? Christians would probably believe so, as they would probably believe in miracles. Christians believe in God, and Jesus, so they’d probably believe that God works in the world. There are many points in the bible where God has communicated with mankind, implying he works in the world. Some people pray to God or a God. This implies they believe God works in the world to help people. I’m not sure I believe in God, therefore I’m not sure I believe God works in the world. I guess since humans have Free Will, if there was a God then God may work, but may not be able to control us. Basically, if God and the Free Will argument is real, then I think God could work in the world, but not to stop us from doing things. In some cases, God may work in the world. God made the flood in the bible, and apparently influenced Joan of Arc, and both examples could count of God working in the world. In my opinion
