Project Brief In this project, the student will be required to design a system which will allow the user to control environmental switches (e.g. heat, light etc.) and/or security functions in the home from a standard mobile phone handset. A number of wireless technologies are available on most standard phones (including SMS/Data, Bluetooth, WiFi) which could possibly be used as the access channel.

6. Remaining Tasks 1. 1. Set up Bluetooth connection between Gumstix and mobile phone 2. 2. Interface Infrared LED to Gumstix device 3. 3. Write C or C++ program to convert Bluetooth to Infrared signal 4. 4. Control of external devices such as lights, radio and television 5. 5.
