Astaghfirullah al-'Adheemal-ladhi la ilaha illa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyum wa atubu ilaih (I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Mighty, Whom there is none worthy except Him, the Living, The Eternal, and I repent unto Him) Whoever says the above words, Allah will forgive him even if he deserted the army's ranks [Abu Dawud 2/85, at-Tirmithi 5/569, Al-Hakim who declared it authentic and ath-Thahabi agreed with him 1/511] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

2 سُبْحَانَ اللهِ SubhanAllah
(Glory be to Allah) one Hundred times, a thousand good deeds are recorded for him or a thousand bad deeds are wiped away [Muslim; 4:2073] SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi, SubhanAllahil- adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme) Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: "Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by the Most Merciful One" [Sahih al-Bukhari; 7:67, Muslim; 4:2071] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

3 SubhanAllah, walHamdulillah, wa La ilaha illAllahu, waAllahu Akbar, wa la Hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil Aliyyil- Azeem (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, There is no might or any power Except with Allah) - The good deeds which endure are (the above) - AbdAllah ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet said: "During the Night Journey I met Ibrahim (alayhis salam) who said to me: O Muhammad, convey my greetings to your Community, and tell them that the Paradise is of pure land, its water is sweet, and its expanse is vast, spacious and even. And its seedlings are SubhanAllah, walhamdulilah, wa la ilaha ilAllah, waAllahu Akbar (the above) [at-Tirmidhi and Tabarani whose version adds: "There is no power nor strength save through Allah"] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

4 الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Alhamdulillah Rabbil ‘alameena (Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds) - Verily the best supplication is (above).[Muslim; 4:2073] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

5 لاَّ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
La ilaha illAllah (There is No God But Allah) - The best form of remembrance is (above).[Muslim; 4:2073] - Abu Huraira (radiAllahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: "When a servant of Allah utters the words la ilaha illallah (there is no God except Allah) sincerely, the doors of heaven open up for these words until they reach the Throne of Allah, so long as its utterer keeps away from the major sins.[at-Tirmidhi, who says it is hasan gharib. al-Mundhiri included in al-Targhib 2:414] - 'Utban bin Malik al-Ansari (radiAllahu anhu) who was one of the men of the tribe of Bani Salim narrated that Allah's Apostle (salAllahu alayhi waslam) came to me and said 'If anybody comes on the Day of Resurrection who has said: La ilaha illal-lah, sincerely, with the intention to win Allah's Pleasure, Allah will make the Hell-Fire forbidden for him' [sahih al-Bukhari; 8:76:431] - Abu Huraira (radiAllahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Renew your faith." "How can we renew our faith?" they asked. The Prophet replied: "Say always: la ilaha illallah." [Ahmad with a fair chain of authorities] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

6 La ilaha illAllahu, waHdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul Mulku, wa lahul Hamd, wa Huwa ala kulli shaiy'in Qadeer (There is No God But Allah Alone, who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the raise, and He is ABle to do all things) - whoever says the above ten times, will have the reward for freeing four slaves from the Children of Isma'il (alayhis salam) [Sahih al-Bukhari; 7:67, Muslim; 4:2071] - whoever says the above one Hundred times, has the reward of freeing ten slaves, a hundred good deeds are recorded for him and a hundred bad deeds are wiped away and he has gained refuge from the devil that day until evening and none shall come with anything better except someone who has done more.[Sahih al-Bukhari; 4:95, Muslim; 4:2071] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

7 Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana abduka, wa ana 'ala ahdika wa wa'dika mastaTa'tu, A'udhu bika min Sharri ma sana'tu, abu'u Laka bini'matika 'alaiya, wa Abu bidhanbi faghfirli fa innahu la yaghfiru-dhdhunuba illa anta (O Allah! You are my Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I entreat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You.) The above du'a is known as the Sayyid al-Istighfar and is the most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah.Whoever says it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.[Sahih al-Bukhari 8, 75 #318] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

8 Bismillah illadhi la yadhurru ma' ismihi shayyun fil ardhi wa la fis- sama’i wa huwa ssami'ul aleem
(In the name of Allah, by Whose name nothing in the earth or in the heaven can do any harm, and He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.) - Uthman ibn 'Affan reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, If any servant of Allah says daily in the morning and in the evening (the above) three times, nothing will harm him [at-Tirmidhi (hasan), Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah] 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

9 حَسۡبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡوَڪِيلُ Hasbuna llahu wa ni’mal-Wakeel.
Allah is Sufficient for us! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust! Q 3 vs. 173 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

10 ٱللَّهُ لَطِيفُۢ بِعِبَادِهِۦ يَرۡزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ‌ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡقَوِىُّ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
Allaahu Latifun bi’ibaadihi yarzuqu man-yashaa’u wa huwal-qawiyyul-’azeez Allah is gracious unto His slaves. He provideth for whom He will. And He is the Strong, the Mighty. Q 42 vs. 19 وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمۡرِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَصِيرُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ Wa ufawwidu amree ilallahi Inna-llaha basirun bil-’ibaad I confide my cause unto Allah. Lo! 11 ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡحَىُّ ٱلۡقَيُّومُ
Allaahu Laailaaha illaahuwal-Hayyul-Qayyum Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

12 رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوبَنَا بَعۡدَ إِذۡ هَدَيۡتَنَا وَهَبۡ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحۡمَةً‌ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡوَهَّابُ Rabbanaa Laatuzigh-qulubanaa Ba’da idh-hadaitanaa wa hablanaa min-ladunka rahmatan InnaKa antal-wahhaab Our Lord! Cause not our hearts to stray after Thou hast guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Thy Presence. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Bestower. 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

13 سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَكَ اللهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ نَشْهَدُ أَن لاَّ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ نَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَنَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ Sub-haanallahi wa bihamdihi subhaanak-Allahumma wa bihamdika Nash-hadu an-Laailaaha illaa anta Nastaghfiruka wa Natubu ilaik 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

14 Dhikr in the Qur’an فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُواْ لِي وَلاَ تَكْفُرُونِ Al-Baqarah 2:152 2:152 Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me. 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

15 Dhikr in the Qur’an Al-Ahzaab 33: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيراً 33:41 O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. Al-Ahzaab 33:35 وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيراً وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ... and the men and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues (while sitting, standing, lying, etc. for more than 300 times extra over the remembrance of Allah during the five compulsory congregational prayers) or praying extra additional Nawafil prayers of night in the last part of night, etc.) Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)

16 Dhikr in the Qur’an وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعاً وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ Al-A’raaf 7:205 بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالآصَالِ وَلاَ تَكُن مِّنَ الْغَافِلِينَ 205 And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and with fear without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful. 24-Apr-17 NMCC Adhkar Adhkar (NMCC)
