1 The past, present, and future of things Presentation prepared by the student Il’ina Alexandra, 7A Class

2 Million years ago… Many millions years ago people didn’t know how to eat at the table. They ate from big pots. At first they didn’t use spoons.

3 First spoon The first spoons appeared 3000 years BC. They were made of wood. Sometimes instead of spoons people used stale bread. They begin using the first spoons made ​​of baked clay in the 3d millennium BC.

4 Different materials for spoons In ancient Europe spoons were made ​​of wood. In Greece people used seashells. In Egypt spoons were made of ivory, stone and wood. Later, in Rome and Greece, they were made ​​from bronze and silver.

5 Golden spoons In 1259, there were golden spoons. Such spoons were only for kings and nobles.

6 Spoons today Today spoons are made ​​of metal, plastic and glass. Spoons are different: there are spoons for candy, sauce, broth, eggs, soup and grapefruits.

7 Spoons in the future I think in the future there will be such spoons as you see in the picture. The spoon has changed a lot through the ages. It suits to different tastes.

8 In conclusion: So you see that an ordinary thing as a spoon has got its own interesting history. But we don’t think about it in our daily busy life. Do you know the history of other things we use every day?
