2. Oliver Cromwell’s Early life He was born on the 25 th April 1599. He was born in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. He was baptized at St.Johns church four days after he was born. He studied at Cambridge university.

3. Oliver’s wife He married a woman called Elizabeth Bourchier. He got married in St. Giles’s church, Cripplegate, London. She was born in 1598 and was the eldest of 12 children! Out of 12 children, there were only 3 girls in her family.

4. Cromwell’s Children He had nine children. The were called Robert, Oliver, Bridget, Richard, Henry, Elizabeth, James, Mary and Frances. One of them died as an infant.

5. The King called Charles I always wanted money from parliament. Parliament didn’t like it King Charles I dissolved them 3 times! He worked without Parliament for 11 years. More money, please!

6. About Parliament Oliver Cromwell became a member of parliament for Huntingdon in 1628. He was elected into the long Parliament in 1640. He raised troops for Parliament in 1642. He raised troops for the civil war.

7. The Civil war!!! His opponent was…KING CHARLES I! They kept winning and losing all the time. Cromwell’s team won the war. King Charles got executed so Oliver never heard of him again. Oliver supposedly died of malaria. He died in 1658.
