3 Some programs and activities are: Turning a New Page The Arizona Reading Program Aspire Reading Clubs and Contest Storytelling Poetry Club

4 Research Results in Creating Life Long Readers Studies have shown that programs such as Accelerated Reader have enhanced students reading interest.

5 Intrinsic motivation has been proven to be the most long lasting reward method to encourage a lasting love of reading. Teaching reading through assigned text and answering follow up questions is an older spin on reading strategies. This approach assesses literal understanding, it doesn’t teach reading.
