1 Evidence Based Practice Intervention Study Funded by an AACN Evidence-Based Grant

2 Objectives Increase multidisciplinary staff knowledge and application of research-based clinical evidence to improve patient care and clinical outcomes Deliver easily accessible research-based evidence to the clinical setting

3 Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria Multidisciplinary Duke Heart Center staff members n Staff nurses, physicians, clinical pharmacists, physician extenders Convenience sample, 120 subjects Completion of pre-test conveys consent to participate Exclusion criteria: Staff unwillingness to participate, inability to complete study questionnaires

4 Intervention “Did You Know” Campaign n Multidisciplinary intervention to bring current research–based evidence to the bedside n Enhance knowledge of 20 critical practice issues n Methods: lapel buttons, bulletin board posters, web-based info packs, written flyers, review of material during patient care rounds

5 Endpoints Pre-test, 4 week intervention period, followed by post-test evaluation Long term continuation approved if data suggests intervention is successful
