Slips, Trips and Falls WELCOME

2 How does slips, trips and falls affect you?
700 occupational fatalities in the US each year CFR Lost time Lost production Broken equipment A lifetime of pain!!!!!!! The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration advises keeping floors and walking surfaces safe. According to OSHA (29 CFR ), "All places of employment, passageways, storerooms, and service rooms shall be kept clean and orderly and in a sanitary condition."

6 FOOTWEAR Use good judgement with regard to footwear while on duty. Be certain footwear is in good condition and appropriate to your job function and outside weather condition. examples of footwear that meets the requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z )

17 WHAT CAN YOU DO? If something is creating a potential slip, trip, or fall hazard fix it (clean it up - move it) Place signs to warn others of the potential hazard If you can not fix it - Place a work order so that you facility manager is aware of the problem

18 Notify Supervisor Employees should immediately report all work related injuries to their supervisor State law requires that injuries should be reported in writing within a limited number of days (varies by state) Place a work order or use the Report of Unsafe Conditions form to get the problem fixed

19 Plan and Prepare Make sure employees understand the consequences.
