Unlimited/Limited Government

Anarchy A state of society without government or law

Unlimited Government A single person or group of people has total power to rule over a geographical area. They can decide laws without permission from those they rule, and are free to break those laws, since they answer to no one.

Limited Government Is a political paradigm under which the citizenry has significant power to influence the rule of law and where government is kept to a minimal size. Everyone has to follow the laws of the land.

Unlimited vs Limited Governments The difference between limited and unlimited is that in limited government the powers of the leaders are restricted by something like the constitution, while for the unlimited government the leaders have absolute power. A limited government would have a document, a group of people, or some sort of checks and balances in place limiting the power of the government. A unlimited government would have nothing limiting the power of the government.

Declaration of Independence A document declaring the US to be independent of the British Crown, signed by the congressional representatives of the Thirteen Colonies, including Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams, and ratified on July 4, 1776.

The Constitution The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States of America. The Constitution, originally comprising seven articles, delineates the national frame of government.supreme lawUnited States of AmericaConstitution In general, the first ten amendments, known collectively as the Bill of Rights, offer specific protections of individual liberty and justice and place restrictions on the powers of government. 8 Amendments The means by which an alteration to the U.S. Constitution, whether a modification, deletion, or addition, is accomplished. In the long history of the U.S. Constitution, over 5,000 amendments have been introduced in Congress. Only 33 of these have been formally proposed by Congress, and none has ever been proposed by a special convention.
